Arkansas Soybean 2020 Crop Cash Market and 2021 Crop Booking Market Reports (Aug 2 - 6, 2021)

These reports comprise a weekly newsletter focusing on Arkansas soybean market economics.  We look at cash market & forward pricing quotes from selected markets as reported to the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service in Arkansas.

 

2020 Crop Soybean Cash Market

The 2020 crop soybean market did not receive price quotes from any Arkansas market during the past week.  The Arkansas Daily Grain Report will be monitored in the coming week to determine if future price reports will be possible.

 

2021 Crop Soybean Booking Market

The Arkansas Soybean 2021 Crop Booking Market posted a modest gain over the weekend before plunging lower on Tuesday.  The market then reversed course and had gains each remaining trading day of the week, but could not fully regain its Tuesday losses (Figure 2).  New crop booking beans rose 4 cents over the weekend to open Monday at $13.51, a decrease of 5 cents from the previous week opening average.  The Tuesday market plunge saw price fall 38 cents to a $13.17 daily statewide average.  Price regained 6 cents on Wednesday, 3 cents on Thursday, and 9 cents on Friday to close out the week.  Trading ended with a Friday statewide average of $13.35, an overall loss of 12 cents from the previous week closing average.  The high individual daily market quote of the past week was $13.69 on Monday at Helena.  Low individual daily market quote was $12.95 at Little Rock on Tuesday.  Closing booking price quotes on Friday ranged from a $13.12 low at Little Rock to a high of $13.52 at West Memphis.  The Friday closing day statewide range stood at 40 cents, unchanged from the previous week closing range.  Overall market reporting remained solid with eleven major individual markets providing quotes each reported trading day.
