Several Rice Research Verification fields have moved into the reproductive stage with panicle initiation and internode elongation. The Drew and Monroe County fields are at the ½” internode elongation (IE) stage. The Jefferson, Mississippi, and Phillips County fields are at the panicle initiation (PI) stage. The locations in the vegetative stage include Arkansas, Crittenden, Lonoke, and St. Francis Counties. Irrigation challenges are at a minimum considering extreme temperatures and critical rice stages.
