Corn and Grain Sorghum Weekly Update – June 24, 2022

Arkansas Row Crop Verification Program | University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture in partnership with the Arkansas Commodity BoardsA couple of the earlier planted fields have reached the reproductive stage, and a few more are very close to tassel. Irrigation has begun in all but two of the fields. Desha II has received over 20 inches of rain but will be irrigated soon. All but two fields will have a final nitrogen application made by the end of next week. Reports of a small amount of common rust, Northern corn leaf blight (NCLB), and Curvularia leaf spot occurred in a couple of the older fields, but there have been only light reports of disease occurrence.
